The splendor and poverty of large monorepositories

Presentation
Backend

We’ve looked at our monorepository and how we build the development process around it on a few occasions already. This time, we’ll highlight a non-standard case: what the monorepository, with all its strong code connectivity and viral sprawl of dependencies, does to help when you try to cut something out of it.

This year will see us share two major case studies. First, there will be the open-source YDB (ydb.tech), which has been a monorepository its entire life, and it will be followed by how Zen and News grew out of Search to become a separate entity.
